Environment
A common concern of ARC members is to balance economic
benefits generated by the airport and the environmental
impact.
The ARC Environment Interest Group is dealing with issues
like noise, air/water/soil pollution and mitigation. After
issuing an assessment of good practises on environmental
issues in airport regions the group concentrates on aircraft
noise regulations and the administrative structures that
produce them.
'Administrative Structures in Airport Regions (ADSTAR)'
analyses the different organisational structures that deal
with air traffic safety and noise reduction within EU
countries. ADSTAR is complementary to the MANIC-project
(Managing Aircraft Noise in Communities) that looked at
different existing instruments for dealing with the noise
problem.
