ACI Medium Term Traffic Forecast Results: Uneven Demand by Region

The recovery seen at the end of 2009 continues in 2010 and medium term improvements are largely driven by economic development in emerging markets while recovery for mature markets continues to be more fragile.
Low cost development and on‐going liberalization (albeit slow) will benefit the industry but as mentioned emerging markets ‐ now firmly back on track - will be the industry leaders driven by economic and demographic growth in turn fuelling demand for air transport; by 2015 Asia/Pacific will be nearly the same size as Europe while North America, despite its limited growth, will remain for the time being the single largest aviation market.
