Airport Regions Mediation Competence Center - Vienna

Airport Regions and ARC members have over the years been engaged in  mediation processes between the airports and citizens nearby. The ARC Mediation Competence Center in Vienna collects international experiences in airport mediation and participative planning. The aim is to build up and provide ARC members with knowledge and best practices in airport mediation.
Many airport regions will in the years to come face a growing demand for airport expansion. At the same time the citizens living close to airports fear that airport expansion will have a negative impact on their quality of life.

The Airport Regions Mediation Competence Center will provide a tool box for regions to enable them to use good examples from other regions world wide. The first step is to build up a web based knowledge database with recent findings from airport mediation for communication and information.

The Airport Regions Mediation Competence Center will also provide additional services to ARC members like seminars, consultations etc. The Center was initiated by the City of Vienna and is a joint activity between ARC, The City of Vienna and Vienna International Airport. The Airport Regions Mediation Competence Center will be in use from 2009.
