  • The European Policy Centre : http://www.theepc.be/ The EPC is a Brussels think-tank that organises policy briefings and high level conferences on a regular basis. The reports from their conferences and their meetings are available from the website. They are working mainly on institutional matters with a number of official organisations. They are policy-orientated.

  • The Centre for European Policy Studies : http://www.ceps.be/index.php. The CEPS is a Brussels think-tank aimed mainly at industrial and economic decision makers.

  • Eu Observer : HTTP//www.EUObserver.com. This is an EU information portal. It provides a wide range of information on all subjects affected by EU legislation and EU policies.

  • InfoBase : http://www.ibeurope.com This is a news agency, providing a newsletter (prior subscription necessary)

  • Institut Robert Schuman : http:www.robert-schuman.eu It provides a newsletter (free subscription) plus very extensive briefings on various topics. They have also created an observation of elections in Europe that provides briefing before each ballot.

  • Press releases from EU institutions:http://europa.eu.int/rapid/start/cgi/guesten.ksh. This is the main institutional reference for EU information. New releases come out every day at 13:00 hours.

  • EUROCONTROL European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigationhttp://www.eurocontrol.int/. Founded in 1960 for overseeing air traffic control in the upper airspace of Member States. The most important goal for EUROCONTROL today is the development of a coherent and coordinated air traffic control system in Europe.

  • International Air Transport Association ( IATA): http://www.iata.org

  • ICAO International Civil Aviation Organization: http://www.icao.org/cgi/goto.pl?icao/en/new.htm. ICAO is a specialized agency of the United Nations. It started on 7 December 1944 in Chicago, with the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation by 52 States.

  • ECAC European Civil Aviation Conference. The European Civil Aviation Conference welcomes you on your visit to the ECAC Web site that will give you an impression of what ECAC is and what it does. This organization, which currently consists of 38 Member States comprising almost all European States, has an ambitious work programme dealing with many facets of civil aviation matters.

  • ATAG (Air Transport Action group) : ATAG Air Transport Action Group. The Air Transport Action Group (ATAG) is an independent coalition of organisations from throughout the air transport industry which have united to press for economically beneficial aviation capacity improvements in an environmentally responsible manner.

  • IATA International Air Transport Association. Founded in Havana, Cuba, in April 1945, It is the prime vehicle for inter-airline cooperation in promoting safe, reliable, secure and economical air services - for the benefit of the world's consumers. Today it has over 230 Members from more than 130 nations.

  • IAOPA International Council of Aircraft Owner and Pilot Associations IAOPA is a non profit federation of 53 autonomous, nongovernmental, national general aviation organizations that has represented international general aviation for more than 35 years.

  • IFALPA International Federation of Air Line Pilots Associations. IFALPA is a non- political, non-profit making organisation which represents over 100,000 pilots in over 90 Member Associations around the world. Its mission is to be the global voice of airline pilots, promoting the highest level of aviation safety world-wide and providing services, support and representation to all of its Member Associations.

  • IFATCA International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations. IFATCA is a non-political and non-industrial world professional organisation representing approximately 40,000 air traffic controllers in more than 100 countries. The mission of the Federation is to protect and safeguard the interests of the air traffic control profession.

  • ACI Airports Council International
    Worldwide professional association of airport operators. ACI is a non-profit-making organisation representing 530 member airport operators with over 1,400 airports in 160 countries and territories worldwide .Non-profit organization representing over 1,200 airports across 150 countries

  • ACI Europe
    The ACI Europe, the European Region of ACI, based in Brussels, represents the interests of over 210 airports operators with some 450 airports in 48 countries stretching from Portugal to the far east of Russia accounting for over 90% of commercial air traffic in Europe.

  •   AGIFORS - Airline Group of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies  The Airline Group of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (AGIFORS) is a society with the avowed purpose of forwarding the practice of Operational Research in airlines. The membership consists of Operational Research workers who are also employed by recognized civil airlines.

  • EAAP European Association For Aviation Psychology. The objective of EAAP is to promote the study of psychology and the scientific pursuit of applied psychology in the field of aviation and to promote the contribution of aviation psychology and human factors to the enhancement of safety and the optimisation of human performance in all aspects of aerospace.

Aviation safety

  •   JAA Joint Aviation Authorities. To be replaces by the aviation safety Agency. JAA is an associated body of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) representing the civil aviation regulatory authorities of a number of European States who have agreed to co-operate in developing and implementing common safety regulatory standards and procedures.

  • ASA Aviation Safety Alliance. The Aviation Safety Alliance is a 501(c)(6) advocacy organization dedicated to educating the media and the general public about aviation safety. The affiliated 501(c)(3) Aviation Safety Alliance Education Fund allows the Alliance to provide informative seminars and other programs.

  • FSF Flight Safety Foundation. FSF is an independent, non political, non profit making, international organization offering an objective view of aviation safety developments.

  • IFA International Federation of Airworthiness. IFA is an organisation dedicated to improving aviation safety by increasing international communication awareness and co-operation on all aspects of airworthiness particularly Continuing Airworthiness.

  • AUC Air Transport Users Council. The AUC is a consumer watchdog for the airline industry based in London. It advise air travellers on their rights in response to individual enquires and by publishing educational material.

  • Traffic Data by ACI : The ACI Annual Worldwide Airport Traffic Report cover passenger, cargo (freight and mail) and aircraft movements at ACI reporting airports for calendar years going back to 1991 or for the most recent 12-month reporting period available. Airport rankings for the respective years for passenger, cargo and aircraft movements are also included. Individual airport entries give international, terminal and domestic breakdowns.

  • IATA Statistics This page contains the following data sources: Air Cargo Annual (air cargo market trends at a global, regional and country level, geographical analysis of traffic flows, growth rates, cargo revenues and yields Ranking of IATA member airlines); World Air Transport Statistics (world's airlines' traffic, capacity, financial results and operating fleet); Monthly International Statistics (airline traffic and capacity figures for passenger and freight markets. Data represents over 94% of international scheduled traffic which includes some non-IATA members), Carrier Tracker ( top-line year over year trends by carrier) and Route Tracker (monthly update on traffic and capacity trends for 6 of the world's major route area).
