POSTPONED: Conference on Rapidly Growing Airports: Opportunities for Regions

Airport Regions Council together with its Romanian members, the Iasi County Council and Iasi Airport, are organising a public conference on Rapidly Growing Airports: Opportunities for Regions. The event will take place in Iasi, Romania, on 28 April 2020, from 09:00 to 16:00 (exact venue and address to be communicated).

Airports of every scale require a growth strategy which includes development of infrastructure, environmentally-friendly measures and land use planning, in order to ensure sustained and progressive growth.

The public conference will focus on rapid airport growth and the challenges as well as opportunities encountered at both European level and local level in Romania. The event will bring together policy-makers, local and regional public authorities and service providers to discuss three main topics:

  • Infrastructure Development and Financing (State Aid post-2021)

  • Environment and Land Use Planning (Sustainable growth)

  • Lessons for and from Romania

Speakers from the European Commission, international airports, European public authorities and academia are expected to contribute to this event. An agenda will be circulated in the upcoming weeks.
