Advocacy
ARC actively participates in both the EU legislative and executive processes related to aviation and airport matters. We advocate for airport activities that are beneficial for all regions across Europe. Through our partnerships with key European institutions and international aviation organisations – such as EUROCONTROL and EASA – as well as with major private stakeholders including ACI, A4E, and ERA, we contribute to shaping policies that support a responsible and sustainable aviation sector.
We are also members of several European-wide initiatives. Through these platforms, ARC supports and contributes to joint efforts to advance sustainable aviation.
Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) of ICAO
The Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) is a technical committee of the ICAO Council established in 1983.
CAEP assists the Council in formulating new policies and adopting new Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) related to aircraft noise and emissions, and more generally to aviation environmental impact.
Renewable and Low-Carbon Fuels Value Chain Industrial Alliance
An initiative that aims to enhance the production and availability of renewable and low-carbon fuels in the aviation and waterborne sectors. It serves as an important supporting measure alongside the FuelEU Maritime and RefuelEU Aviation initiatives. The Alliance brings together a diverse group of stakeholders from across the transport fuels industry, including suppliers, end-users, technology providers, and financial institutions involved at every stage of the value chain.
Alliance for a Zero Emission Aviation
A collaborative effort of public and private partners with a shared goal of preparing for the introduction of hydrogen-powered and electric aircraft into commercial service. It aims to convene stakeholders from all industry sectors to strategise and coordinate the implementation of these innovative aircraft.
Zero Pollution Stakeholder Platform
Launched by the European Commission and the European Committee of the Regions. This platform has a primary focus on effectively integrating the zero pollution agenda. It aims to promote collaboration, foster integrated solutions, and encourage cooperative efforts that align with decarbonisation and post-COVID-19 recovery initiatives.
Environmental Group of ECAC
European Civil Aviation Conference aims to achieve consistency in civil aviation policies and practices among its Member States while fostering mutual understanding on policy matters with the rest of the world. ECAC is dedicated to advancing the ongoing growth of a secure, effective, and environmentally friendly air transport system in Europe.
Pact for Skills
The Pact aims to support public and private organisations with upskilling and reskilling, so they can thrive through the green and digital transitions.
Members of the Pact have access to knowledge on upskilling and reskilling needs, advice on relevant funding instruments to boost the skills of adults in their regions and countries, and partnership opportunities within our growing community.
