On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, aviation professionals and stakeholders gathered in the European Parliament, where the debate on Sustainable Aviation Fuel for Future Aviation in Europe took place and was initiated by the cooperation of FlightPath, SENASA and Airport Regions Council and kindly hosted by the MEP Cesar Luena (Spain) and his team. The debate was organised in continuation of the highly successful FlightPath final event on sustainable aviation fuel which took place in November 2019 in the ARC premises in Brussels.
Although the event lasted only a couple of hours, it gathered over 60 participants, which included airlines, airports, sustainable fuel consultants, European Commission officials and policy-makers. The programme of the debate included Donal HANDLEY, Chief of Staff, Director General Office, EUROCONTROL, Stephen ARROWSMITH, Chief Environmental Protection, EASA, Robert BOYD, Senior Manager Aviation Environment, IATA, Ana SALAZAR, HoU Environment Department, AENA. César VELARDE, Linda VAN WAMELEN and Grégoire LE COMTE, had a presentation on Member States initiatives on SAF coordination. The event ended with an insightful roundtable debate between the speakers and participants.
ARC, SENASA and FlightPath teams are thankful for the speakers and participants, who shared their insights and knowledge so actively on this important and urgent topic.
