Airport City Aviapolis, located next to Helsinki Airport, redefines the modern airport city concept when the former backyard turns into source of new activity, growth and prosperity. Aviapolis will become a vibrant business and residential area with urban ambience.

Join to co-create Aviapolis with the key stakeholders of the City of Vantaa. The workshop is followed by a site visit to Aviapolis, Helsinki Airport and Finnair’s new Nordic cargo hub, which is the most modern air cargo terminal in Europe.

Learning from the Best in Conference The Conference key note speakers are leading experts on airport development.

Max Hirsh, (PhD, Harvard) Professor at University of Hong Kong and leading expert on airports, migration and transport infrastructure. Mr. Hirsh presents his research results and recommendations for Aviapolis’ future development based on his airport urbanism studies.

Pieter van der Horst, a leading expert in airport city and aerotropolis development and in generating non-aviation revenues. Pieter works for IKIA airport city in Tehran as Chief Development Officer and runs AIREA, an airport city development and consultancy firm. Mr. van der Horst presents the development of Amsterdam Airport City Schiphol, a forerunner of airport cities, and IKIA Airport City project in Tehran.
